Earthquake in Nepal! M5.5 at Rukum on June 28




Kathmandu, June 28 National Seismological Center (NSC) web portal reported a moderate earthquake measuring ML5.5 on Richter scale in Western Nepal on evening of June 28th at 5:26pm local time (11:41 UTC). According to the NSC the quake was epicentered at southern part of Rukum district in Mid Western Region of Nepal.

This is the 18th M4+ scale earthquake in the country this year, 2013.

Earthquake in Nepal! M4.4 at Darchula on June 27




Kathmandu, June 27 National Seismological Center (NSC) web portal reported a minor earthquake measuring M4.4 on Richter scale in Far Western Nepal at around noon of June 27th at 12:06pm local time (06:21 UTC). According to the NSC the quake was epicentered at Darchula in Far Western Region of Nepal.

Pray for people in Darchula, who were recently, traumatized by flood and landslide.

This is the 17th M4+ scale earthquake in the country this year, 2013.

According to the NSC the quake was epicentered at Dhanusha district in Central Region of Nepal.

This is the 16th M4+ scale earthquake in the country this year, 2013.

    Rato Matsyendranath Temple, Bungamati
    Place: Bungamati, Lalitpur

    Extra info:
    This is one of the two temples where Rato Matsyendranath resides. This temple is situated at 5km SSW from the the other temple where the idol of Matsyendranath resides. The idol is brought to this temple after conclusion of chariot festival of Matyendranath, on the day of bhotojatra. The idol of Karunamaya stays in this temple till the beginning of next chariot festival, bungdyo jaatra. The god of Matsyendranath is also known by various names viz. Karunamaya, Arya Avalokiteshwora, Bungdyo, and variant Machhindranath.

According to the NSC the quake was epicentered at Northern Khotang, Sagarmatha Zone in Eastern Development Region of Nepal.

    This is the 15th M4+ scale earthquake in the country this year, 2013.
