Update Oct 15: Due to seasonal change, loadshedding timing changed effective from October 15, 2012 (Asoj 29, 2069) Monday.

Update Aug 20: Citing cut in import of power from India and lesser rainwater collection at Indrasarowar Water Reservoir, NEA to increase loadshedding hours from 35 hours weekly to 46 hours weekly (max 7 hours a day) effective from August 20 (Bhadra 4, 2069).

Update Jun 26: NEA to reduce loadshedding hours from 42 hours weekly to 35 hours weekly (max 6 hours a day) effective from June 27 (Asar 13, 2069).

Update Jun 21: NEA reduced loadshedding hours from 49 hours weekly to 42 hours weekly (max 7 hours a day) effective from June 21 (Asar 7, 2069).

Update Jun 1: NEA announced load shedding hours to be reduced from 56 hours weekly to 49 hours weekly (approx 7 hours daily in average) effective from June 1 (Jestha 19, 2069).

Update May 25: Citing improvement in water level in reservoirs and effective control of power leakage, NEA reduced load shedding hours to 56 hours weekly (8 hours daily in average) effective from May 25 (Jestha 12, 2069).

Update April 27: NEA without public notice increases loadshedding hours by approximately 2 hours daily - light goes off half an hour before the scheduled time and comes back 30mins later than the latest published schedule.

Update March 4: Load shedding hours shall be slashed from prevailing 68 hours weekly to 62 hours starting from March 5 (Falgun 22), Monday. There will be 6 hours power cut once, 8.5 hours for two days, 9.5 hours for another two days and 10 hours load shedding for the remaining two days.

Update Feb 25: Good News! NEA is preparing to slash load shedding hours from prevailing 75 hours weekly to 68 hours starting from February 27 (Monday). There will be 9 hours power cut for three days, 10 hours for other three days and 11 hours load shedding for a day.

Update Feb 23: Thanks to effective control of leakage of electricity, effective from February 23rd (Falgun 11), Loadshedding hours is slashed by 5 hours weekly. Weekly loadshedding hours is reduced from current 80 hours to total of 75 hours weekly.

Kathmandu, February 13: Thanks to the increase in water-level in Kulekhani reservoir, Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) slashed existing loadshedding by an hour daily with maximum powercut of 13 hours effective from February 13 (Falgun 1), Monday. It is also learnt that Mid-Marshyangdi project also come into operation. Effective from today, total loadshedding hours is reduced from 88 hours weekly to 80 hours weekly
